CBD Oil for Pain. Pain is a symptom present in the lives of so many people due to its high incidence as a part of the symptomatic manifestations of a large number of illnesses. Chronic pain is frequently characterized as torment enduring over 12 weeks whereas acute pain is an ordinary vibe that cautions us about conceivable injury. Chronic pain is very different; it often persists for months or even longer.
There are drugs for pain management in the pharmaceutical world, but, besides the fact that the human body can get used to certain doses of pain medication, needing more to enjoy the desired relief, these drugs also come with a wide array of unpleasant side-effects and health risks.
So, when it was found out that CBD oil can help alleviate pain efficiently and in a safe manner than regular painkillers, the number of people that started adopting CBD oil for treatment of pain started to increase.
CBD Oil for Pain: Prologue
Thomas Edison once said: “The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.”
Now, what we are about to share with you is, by no means, the genie in the bottle or the silver bullet to ending your health battles. However, it is a revolutionary beginning to improve your overall health and performance.
So what is all the buzz about?
Well it’s called Cannabidiol otherwise known as CBD. The CBD being discussed here is a non-psychotropic compound that is extracted from the hemp plant. Now before you judge a book by its cover, we would like you to give us a chance to explain the truth about CBD.
Number one, it isn’t marijuana. And number two, it won’t get a person high. We can relate to what you may be thinking right now: Hemp, cannabis, marijuana, it’s all the same thing. It’s just for those people that want to get stoned or need to feel high.
Well I know how you feel because I felt the same way. But as we began to investigate what hemp is, we started to understand the true healing potential behind this simple little plant that has been in medicine cabinets for generations.
Be aware of the quality of your CBD Oil
High quality hemp is grown organically without pesticides, is gluten-free, has no GMOs and is derived from the full spectrum of all the cannabinoids.
Now, this full spectrum causes all the compounds within the cannabis plant or the hemp plant to magnify each other’s effect, known as the entourage effect.
Here, one can learn about CBD and understand its benefits and how it assists the body, with all organ functions through a physiological process known as homeostasis.
Now, you may not be aware that CBD Products made of Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) are legal in all 50 states, as it is derived from the hemp plant. And it is not marijuana which doesn’t have the same privileges.
The high concentration of the main healing compound of CBD is very abundant in hemp with only a trace amount of the psychotropic compound THC.
This ensures you can’t get high, and herein lies the secret to utilizing the health benefits of cannabis without the risk of getting high or breaking the law.

Symptoms of Chronic Pain
Chronic pain may arise from an initial injury, for example, a back sprain or there might be some weakness due to a long period of illness. Other well-being issues such as fatigue, sleep disturbances and decreased appetite often accompanied chronic pain.
The cause of chronic pain is not generally clear. It may occur because the brain chemicals that usually block pain sensations after you start getting better from illness or injury are not working right. It may also occur without a known cause.
CBD for Pain & the Endocannabinoid system
What makes CBD oil so efficient when it comes to diminishing pain? The secret lies in our body’s own endocannabinoid system.
Believe it or not, our body has special receptors that react to the presence of cannabinoids, also being able to produce its own cannabinoid compounds whose main purpose is pain reduction and our body’s wellbeing.
But, as you may have guessed, this system may end up not functioning right, allowing disease and pain to take over our body.
This is when we can intervene from the outside, and introduce cannabinoids, extracted from the cannabis plant, into the body, to help this system function as it should once again.
CBD Oil for Pain: How it works
How this system works and what kind of effects and results the treatment with CBD oil can bring us, are aspects that have only recently been subjected to research, triggered by the increasing interest in products with CBD content of people suffering from chronic pain.
So, even if research is still at its beginnings and the medical world doesn’t have sufficient proof in this particular sector, the results provided by CBD for pain relief in the few clinical and laboratory tests that have been embarked upon so far are rather promising.
Plus, a lot of people that already started using CBD oil for pain stand as living proof that this particular compound is more than able to offer them a pain-free life.
Studies on CBD Oil for pain
We feel pain due to certain reactions in our brain, which provide a response to external stimuli. Of course, the pain is the result of these processes after emotional processing, which is an indicator that our body is not feeling well.
Inside the brain, researchers found out that the rostral anterior cingulate cortex or rACC is the one responsible for the management of this emotionally-processed pain.
During clinical and preclinical studies, researchers used this information to see how CBD can affect the process of pain generation, by using the rACC of laboratory rats.
During these studies, CBD was either injected directly into the rACC or in their system, allowing it to find its way toward the brain of the rats.
It is worth mentioning that the rats had mechanical allodynia, which pains that the scientists used various harmless stimuli to trigger a pain sensation, so they could measure the effect on CBD.
The obtained results showed that the pain sensation diminished after the administration of CBD.
Of course, the results differed according to the doses used and administration method, but the final conclusion was that CBD could be used in the future to manage pain, even though the medical world is of the opinion that more tests are needed.
CBD oil for neuropathic and chronic inflammatory pain
Other studies on laboratory rats focused on CBD for pain relief treatment that was administered orally, just like so many people choose to take their CBD oil, with the purpose of diminishing neuropathic and chronic inflammatory pain.
It was no surprise when researchers discovered CBD’s significant immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties.
The rats in this study suffered from sciatic nerve chronic constriction, which triggered neuropathic pain, and complete Freund’s adjuvant intraplantar injection, for inflammatory pain. In both cases, the rats received a daily treatment with CBD for pain, which was administered orally.
After one week of treatment and until day 14, the pain was reduced both in the case of mechanical and thermal stimuli. The researchers concluded the study with the observation that Cannabidiol can be successfully used in the management of states of chronic pain.
CBD Oil for Pain: Hard to manage pain
But CBD oil is great not just in the case of managing pain triggered by injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions, but also in the case of hard to manage pain, such as in the case of cancer patients.
Cancer treatment is, by nature, toxic and hard to handle by an organism that is already weakened by a difficult illness. Thus, the treatment of pain with a product that is extracted from vegetal matter is more than welcome in these cases.
After 2006, when the US FDA approved clinical trials for the administration of cannabinoid analgesics in the case of cancer patients, the use of these products started to increase due to the fact that the possible adverse events are much more manageable than in the case of traditional pain medication.
CBD Oil for Pain: Side Effects & Studies
Fatigue, dizziness, irritability, these are some of the possible side-effects that are presumed to be caused by CBD consumption, especially if the dose is not adjusted according to a person’s needs and body state, but other than this, health risks are virtually not present.
Doctors, researchers, and officials insist on the fact that CBD needs to be thoroughly studied in order to have significant proofs that it does work as pain medication until it will actually be approved as a treatment accessible to everyone.
But, even so, the start is promising, and so it is only a matter of time before researchers discover what so many people already did since they choose to take CBD oil to keep their pain under control.
CBD Oil for Pain: What is CBD?
CBD is a chemical compound extracted from the cannabis plant, known as cannabinoid, which, contrary to what some people may believe, does not make you “high”. This is the effect triggered by another chemical found in cannabis, known as THC.
CBD (Cannabidiol) oil is certainly taking the world by storm by reviving the argument about marijuana being used for medical purposes.
Thus, the potential of CBD as an effective pain management treatment is depicted precisely by the fact that it does not alter one’s state of mind.
In other words, you can use the oil even during the day as it will have a nice calming effect on the body, helping it relax, without taking away your ability to focus.
In fact, it is said that small dosages can even increase your alertness, so yes, everything lies in the dose you choose to take.
What makes CBD oil different?
CBD oil is gradually becoming a source of relaxation in your people’s daily lives. However, each person’s needs are different and so we always encourage you to do your own research.
CBD oil works very mildly to treat chronic pain. We highly recommend giving CBD a try. It is a wonderful and easy treatment for chronic pain management. And can be a catalyst that gets your body and mind moving in the direction of healing.
