Reasons why CBD Oil did not work

CBD Oil did not workOne or the other raises the question of why CBD oil did not work. While CBD is an incredible extract obtained from cannabis that can be used for a wide range of illnesses, it doesn’t always work as expected.

Before the doctors and researchers’ community began studying the potential of CBD, it was successfully used by a high number of people with the purpose of alleviating various bothering symptoms triggered by their health conditions.

Because it has no psychoactive effects, CBD was the kind of treatment that could be used during the day with no problem, as it doesn’t affect the way an individual thinks and reacts. Plus it has no unwanted side-effects, as many of the prescribed drugs most of us use.

Still, there are situations in which CBD doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. Why is this happening? Let us take a closer look at this aspect.

CBD oil did not work: Do a thorough research before purchasing CBD

CBD has indeed an amazing potential and could soon replace regular treatments for some of the most severe health problems out there, like seizures in children. But, there are people that wonder about the reasons why CBD did not work in their case.

First of all, when starting a treatment with CBD, you should not expect the situation to improve overnight, as the results you want to obtain depend on a variety of factors.

CBD oil did not work: Was the CBD oil you used of good quality?

quality cbd oilYou see, the increasing popularity of CBD and the increasing demand for this product triggered the appearance of many CBD manufacturers. Unfortunately, this market niche is not yet properly regulated, which means that there are many products on the market that are not reliable.

In other words, there are CBD products of poor quality, which do not contain what they claim of containing, such as pure CBD extract, and may even represent a hazard to your health.

This is why you need to be extremely careful when choosing your CBD provider and do a thorough research before purchasing the product. Make sure the manufacturer has documentation (Analysis Certificate), that confirms the cannabinoid content and purity. After all, you want to be sure that you are taking CBD in a pure and unaltered form.

CBD oil did not work: Full extracted CBD Oil and isolated CBD

It has to be understood, that there is a difference between isolated CBD (oil) and fully extracted CBD oil.

Fully extracted CBD oil is obtained from the resin (trichomes) of the cannabis plant and has a different cannabinoid content depending on the variety of the plant.

The point is, that with a fully extracted CBD oil, all the other cannabinoids in the plant are also in the oil. The spectrum of different cannabinoids is called cannabinoid profile and the cannabinoids can influence each other’s effect. This effect is called entourage effect.

On the other hand, we have the isolated CBD. This is isolated by a chemical process from the other cannabinoids and thus comes in pure, mostly crystalline form. This isolated Crystalline CBD does not have a cannabinoid profile and therefore eliminates the entourage effect.

This CBD also has its effect and is used in many in vitro and in vivo studies with mice. With amazing results.

However, depending on the individual, the pure crystalline CBD may be many times less effective than fully extracted CBD oil.

The dosage plays an important role

CBD DoseAnother aspect you should keep in mind about CBD usage is that you need to find the dose that works best for you, as there isn’t a particular dose that can be applied to everybody.

If in the case of drugs prescribed by the doctor there is a specific dose that can be administer when it comes to CBD this dose can only be found based on personal experiences.

Of course, there is a minimum dose you can start with, which can be gradually increased until you obtain the best results. But, don’t change your CBD dose from one day to another.

It is recommended to continue with a certain dose for a week or two before deciding whether it needs adjustments or not.

Document your CBD oil intake

During this period you should keep a log where you write down the CBD dose you use per day, your body weight, and your daily experiences, meaning how you feel and how are the symptoms manifesting.

If days go by and you don’t feel an improvement or the improvement is not that significant, then you can adjust your CBD dosage. But, again, do it gradually, by adding just a small quantity of CBD to your existing dose.

Why does the dose matter so much and are there are risks related to it?

The idea is to make slight adjustments instead of large leaps, as they are safer. Are there any risks or side-effects concerning an adequate CBD dose?

While the risks of overdosing with CBD are almost inexistent, if you take too much, in rare cases and with certain symptoms, you can get the opposite kind of effects. Instead of feeling calm but alert, you may start feeling kind of nervous.

Also, a high dose of CBD can make you dizzy or drowsy, or provide the so-called “cotton mouth” effect, which means that you will feel your mouth dry all the time.

Besides this, there are no serious concerns connected to the use of CBD, if the product is utilized with responsibility.

The effectiveness with which CBD is absorbed into your body

Many people may expect for CBD to pass into their bodies without a problem as soon as the product is ingested. But, in reality, things don’t happen as easy as this.

Everything that goes inside our body is filtered and extracted in a certain percentage of efficiency, while the rest is considered waste. Thus, in the best case scenario, your body gets 20 to 30% of the CBD you introduced in your body.

What are the factors that influence this aspect?

BioAvailability CBDCalled bioavailability, this is the ability of the substance to end up in your bloodstream, being carried around the body in all the places where it’s supposed to go.

Whatever does not make it to the bloodstream will go to waste. This depends on the form in which you choose to take CBD.

The most effective way to take it is sublingually, as this is the way that will ensure the biggest degree of absorption in the bloodstream, increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.

Capsules, on the other hand, have a small degree of absorption. Thus, if 25 mg of CBD oil taken sublingually has a bioavailability of 20 to 30%, CBD capsules will barely reach 5-10%.

Your genes may be the culprits

Unfortunately, some people have their genes in the way, as their bodies are already producing high levels of cannabinoids, as they are genetically scheduled to work this way. Approximately 15 to 20% of the world’s population has this genetic ability.

This also means that a CBD treatment will not be as effective in the case of these people as it is in the case of other people, who don’t manage to produce such high amounts of cannabinoids.
